This oceanic wilderness boasts dozens of untouched islands. Picture crescent moon beaches with white sand, soaring palm trees, coral reefs, and gentle waters perfect for snorkeling. This area is also where humpback whales make their impressive migration from August to October.
From May through November, wildlife activity increases around the island and nearby waters. The rainforest thickens after the first rains, and marine life moves closer to shore.
By mid-year, dolphins are often seen offshore. From July, humpback whales arrive in the Gulf of Chiriquí to calve — sometimes visible just beyond the beaches. On calm mornings, you may spot them from shore, rising briefly before slipping beneath the surface.
