Government Will Invest $400 Million in Chiriqui Province in 2010

December 23rd, 2009 by Jerrod

Enrique Malek AeropuertoAn article in La Prensa (Panama’s big newspaper) discusses the government’s plans to invest in infrastructure projects in Chiriqui, the province where Palenque is located. Much of the money will go to road expansions, including making the Interamericana highway four lanes from David past the turn-off to Palenque. Most importantly, the allotment of funds will help complete the expansion of the David airport to serve 250-person international flights. Imagine being able to be on a boat to Palenque in just a few hours from Miami or Houston. Great news!
