[A few blog posts ago, Ben posted an entry about the National Geographic Photo Contest. Two pictures of Isla Palenque were submitted by our photographer Adam Elliott, and they're doing really well. Feel free to vote; we have until mid-August. Now you can also go this this LINK and give photos a rating from 1 to 10. Click our photo and (if you like it) give us some 10s!]
Today, National Geographic is featuring our photo as their pick of the day on their travel blog, intelligent travel. To me this is a testament, not only to Adam’s talent, but to the unique beauty of the island. It’s wild, ancient, almost primordial look has a tangible effect on one’s psyche.
Tomorrow morning I leave for a visit to Isla Palenque, and already I feel my mind starting to release everyday concerns in preparation for the journey. I have lots of work to do, but it’s so much nicer to contemplate palm trees…
